Not from what I've seen looking at google images of them. A Hi-lux one looked more like it but haven't found one for sale. It'd be nice to get it something like as I've seen photos of them with a flat bed and they just don't look right. The original wheel arches are definitely savable too so would make it look even more odd than box arching it.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 11:00 pm The floor wouldn't be the same pattern as used in the load bed of transits etc would it?

Meanwhile I popped into see my mate yesterday and he showed me a bit of progress on his very long term project.
The front end is now looking not too shabby but he's fitting a splitter to cover up the bracket protruding from the bit under the intercooler.
I've also just been out for a jaunt in.my sister's lovely little Tronda which was a great way to spend a summers evening

The Acclaims a cracking little car and buzzes along quite happily. The Astra certainly isn't to everyone's tastes. It is however not a bad effort? It's been converted to 4WD, has a significant power upgrade and a full weld in Safety Devices cage fitted. I forget which wide arch kit it is but it's very rare indeed.

I've dropped off the back of the bed with the bloke who's got access to a proper folder and hopefully knows how to use it, the bed and U section should be ready for collection in about a weeks time?
Meanwhile here's a couple of the quality upgrades done by the previous owner.

This is going to be a hilarious thread!
I'm sure the drivetrain will be fine though, if these can withstand African roads then hopefully it will have survived Justin!

The engine sounds sweet tbh. No idea what the rest of the drivetrain is like as I haven't actually driven it but I have been sat in it going round the industrial estate and I didn't notice any really nasty noises or bad slack in it.
I've been offered another pickup after asking for spares on Facebook, supposedly solid and a good project, he wants 2K for it, he'll be waiting a while I think I've also been contacted by someone else who has another Dangel pickup in Somerset so now that's two we know of! His is in the middle of a re-build too by the looks of it. He's had a few including an orange one he sold a few years back to a bloke who lives near Glastonbury. The very same bloke we bought all the bits that he had the other week...

I think export demand has dropped but if it's a minty one then 2k doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. After all these are usable in modern traffic without having to hammer them over a Golf remember.....

If it's mint it's definitely more of the Polo variety I bet when you dig into itDodgeRover wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 1:42 pm I think export demand has dropped but if it's a minty one then 2k doesn't seem too unreasonable to me.
