7.5 ton flat begs are the easiest thing to drive sideways I've ever tried.
Three lanes of a roundabout over a M25 junction? don't mind if I do...

Re: What did you do today?
I recently acquired this 305 which has been owned by a few people on AS. It was a right bastard to start and the belt was squealing quite often. It also regularly cut out and took some amount of cranking to restart.
How anyone could put up with this I really don't know.
First thing I did was change the glow plugs which made no real noticeable difference to starting from cold.
Next I changed the fuel filter system, the one on the car didn't seem to have a priming pump or bleed screw so there was no way of removing air from the system.
I fitted another fuel filter system from my spares car, bled the air out and reconnected the coolant pipes which had been bypassed previously.
After that I swapped the belt and now it starts instantly without screeching and will happily run without cutting out.

No it has to be bodged instead with an air of pride and that you never spend any money on it.

And then blame the previous keepers for not doing the jobs you refused to do.

I do. It's like all the POs of the Jaaag somehow managing to put up with the leprechaun in the boot with a spanner tapping away over bumps....
Drove me so mental I ordered it to be done by a garage in my absence and I NEVER use garages.

I'm as bad....The driver's door on the Cowley has rattled incessantly since I put the car on the road five years ago. You'd think five winters would have been enough time to sort it out.

Yeah but without the civilisation.
