Another horsebox project
I rented my house out because I keep emigrating but I think I am probably going to settle back here now so I went over to see the tenant to gently break the news about wanting the house back, and not because she looks like Keira Knightly. Definitely not that. Ok, maybe a bit.
Didn’t need to break the news as she tells me she is moving on next Spring. The feckless dolt husband did a runner on her and left her with a 1 year old and 7 months pregnant. But she is a good local farming stock lass so got on with single mum stuff and it was great to see the 3 of them in the cottage, even though it is smaller than most people’s kitchen.
Anyway, she has had enough of life and has decided to up sticks and take the kids around the world.
In a horsebox. She is still fixing it up, but looks like she has a head start on Bollox as it isn’t a rusty old Dodge.
I’m going to follow the project with interest. But not because she is a prettier version of Keira Knightley. Ok, maybe a bit.

We're definitely going to have to see pictures of SuperKeira.

Lovely engines in those Leylands. Free revving and fun to drive for a truck.
The gearbox conversions worry me though. Isn't the cab now bolted down and unable to be tilted without dismantling the body?

OMG U OK HUN?

Re: Another horsebox project
Do you need a truck licence for something like this? Or does converting it mean a car licence is OK?
These are some words.
Re: Another horsebox project
If you get it registered as a Camper Van then it can be driven on a car license, no tachograph and to car speed limits. HTHAlabamaShrimp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 5:06 pm Do you need a truck licence for something like this? Or does converting it mean a car licence is OK?

Depending on weight though, in pretty sure she will need either grandfather rights to drive up to 7.5t or have passed her lorry test
