Re: Two wheels good.
Rode a few FJR1300's on some of my training courses. A couple of the earlier models I rode had to have replacement 3rd gears (think most of their time was spent in 3rd), nice bikes but did not float my boat. The last one I rode was a late model with the fly by wire throttle, which was noticeably better to ride, and quicker than I expected too, showing 174mph on the speedo along a long downhill section of the A2. All were comfortable for all day riding too.brandersnatch wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:37 pm I was going to say FJR1300 till I saw the 60mpg bit. I used to get around 50 but that included a lot of two up around town stuff.
I had an FJ1100 when it was a three years old, (B69 CMF, DVLA database shows it has been untaxed since July 1993) and my brother has one he has just finished rebuilding. He likes it so much he is selling most of his other bikes, including Kawasaki ZXR400, Kawasaki ZXR750 H2, Honda VFR800 and CBR600 (my old one).
Did have a look at late model FJR's that are for sale here, but all have high mileage, which doesn't bother me, but the asking prices were equally as high. In reality, they probably exceed what I need, not want, so will probably end uo sticking with the Deauville seeing as its only done 50,000 kms or so. loads of life left in it

More testing has proved my 14 is still too thirsty but the changes I made have let me prove to myself it's the TPS. Damn thing passes every test but the rough running is directly related to throttle position. Exactly like last time it went and tested ok too.

Fucking hell I've had tyres exactly like that! Just take 'em abroad for a mirror image.

A mate of mine was recently telling me how much he missed his ZXR 400.Jerzy Woking wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 12:47 pmRode a few FJR1300's on some of my training courses. If it really does go up for sale, please let me know.

Re: Two wheels good.
Told my mate last night about the bikes, as my brother won't be sticking them on ebay (including my Guzzi V1200 Sport) until the end of Feb.
Sorry AF, but it turns out my mate bought the 400 earlier today. He has just got to go from Liverpool to Essex to collect it.
He bought it as he hasn't seen one for a few years, and this one runs smoothly, is tatty but all there, and was cheap.
