My first wife had a X1/9 a 1500 5 speed thing in a glorious red metallic colour. It had its first serious restoration (well, rust removed and a full respray in the same colour) at four years old and twenty odd thousand miles...sold it shortly after!

I bought a three year old metro (my only ever car on finance) when I was 19. That fucker was starting to rust.
