Aye me too - never thought about all the oddities and marvellous chod there was. I learnt a lot about interchangeable parts and different suspension setups etc in scrappys too. I was fascinated by the ingenious fan belt arrangement on some Peugeot that ran all round the engine bay to turn the drive through 90 degrees to drive the fan adjacent to the front mounted radiator - a far cray from the side radiators on transverse BL stuff.

Petrol Peugeot 305 had that set up never got to see a diesel one as FOAD was busy in an early stock piling attempt.

Not so much my memories but as a friend used to say, if only cars could talk what memories they would hold. Anyway giant yard for sale in that there Murica, yours for two million bucks. Loads of interesting and rare vehicles, there's even one for SIC. Even a Thames 400E van too.

Mrs Rocker & I have just formulated a tea-break business plan......Borrow the dosh (fuck knows how), flog all that Euro and Jap crap - the Fairlady Roadster and 404 Cabrio should net a few quid as will the VW tin. We'll cobble together the best bits of RV to live in and just get the '60 Edsel and '49 Lincoln on the road before living off the parts from the rest.

In all seriousness, 2m quid is not bad and quite achievable for someone (unlike me) with a reasonable UK property portfolio. Conservatively assuming that "several thousand" cars is in fact less than 4000 vehicles that works out to about USD650.00 per car which should be fairly attainable either in parts or basket case sale. I assume the land is fairly worthless but to an avid enthusiast and lover of razor-sharp peeling chrome and paint-free tinware it is a lot more appealing than a £1.75m house here with room for three humdrum over-priced shiny classic cars.

I've got a feeling you may get absolutely shafted with land taxes and have the EPA continually on your back.
But otherwise it's sounds a fine plan, bid them 1.5m - that's only a terrace house in London.
