Heatwave 76 behind the scenes ;)

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Heatwave 76 behind the scenes ;)

Post by 8BAK465 »

I am putting this here as a thread marker and later I might replace the title ;)

Once I have finished with the Van its going and ill be doing my last car

What exactly does that mean?

Well I don't want to shoot myself in the foot of course after this one I will probably own other cars and yes I might fix the odd bit,a broken light,a scratch, wet vac interior etc on a modern yet older chod but this next one will be the last "Classic Project" :o

In a nutshell I just cant do it anymore,I was told my health would catch up with me maybe in my thirties or forties well it has now. its a bit like you know when you want to do an outside job and your dodging the weather and you think this is it just enough time before it pours down

Well and long as my Van goes and I get what I want Ive got enough in me to do the next one, then must slow it down for my own sake.

I wont reveal what yet but its not American,I am done with American vehicles I don't hate them or owt and I still plan on keeping Shitey I just don't want another so back to European (are you even allowed to say that anymore?) or is it Englaise? You know im not sure?

At first I wanted to do a project painting etc yadda yadda but not sure ive got it in me?
So it will either be an old style tidy up using methods nobody does anymore or an oily rag dependant on the overall condition of the victim I manage to procure :?

But yeah watch this space,it could be a while but as far as Projects this will be the last one for me,I am done now but this is one of those that I must do before my mortal coil becomes detatched :|

You can of course have a guess what it might be? There is one person probably knows on here but I wont identify who that is and I hope they will keep stum in the spirit of things. And if anybody guesses I will keep poker face neither denying or confirming

Lets just hope the Van goes swiftly and its replacement arrives likewise

Sooooo

In a few weeks I will be starting a new thread

This really is my last project, been there done that bought the T shirt.

Two things had to happen

The Big Dodge Van had to go

Check

I had to find the "Right" offering with just the right amount of hope and the right amount of Detritus.

Check.

So anyway such an example has been found and secured and will be Collected or Delivered  not yet decided in the next few weeks

This will not be the thread as Ive had an idea :?:

My plan is to conduct the actual thread as if it is following on from the heatwave of 76 as i use old school methods items and bodgery to fix up a typical second hand banger i would of bought back then as i look forward to fixing it up to use use in the great upcoming year which was 1977

With me so far?

Please play along as i claim a bag of crisps is 3p

This could be fun!

All will be revealed i went to view said motor chariot today have agreen to buy from where its sat for 10 years when the previous current keeper bought it ran it though an MOT then stored it :?

Previous to that it had been laid up since the 70s :o

So lets just for the purpose of the tape say I bought it then ;)

1976 is coming to you soon live and direct with a car from the classifieds in the local rag

Here is a teaser we did try to get it running but no joy guv it spins over but no spark :x

That looks like a Kent crossflow engine, but the engine bay doesn't look right for an Escort as far as my memory goes.
