Thinking from memory, I think all the autos were column select and all the 1500s were disc front brakes. Mebbe rong, though.

I could imagine the Lotus and GT having front discs but I was surprised my 1500 estate was fitted with them.

Mk III Zephyrs and Zodies had 'em from the start in 1962 and I think they just progressed across the range pretty quickly. Knowing Ford there were probably production line efficiencies to be had.

I believe that the distance between the top of the front struts is exactly the same as a Mk1 Escort making a rack and pinion upgrade a possibility.

Your all spoiling this
OK a couple more pics then its 1976 tomorrow

Not bench but a very interesting set of seats as i understand they only had these in very late Consul Cortina's and Very Early "Airflow" Cortina's and Rocker is right all 1500s had discs from October 64 I have got column shift and umbrella handbrake because the Borg Warner 35 doesn't leave enough space for the gear shift or handbrake on the tunnel because of its width of the transmission.

it was quite rare to have coloured steering wheels and matching coloured dash and inside door metal though unofficial these were known as Super Delux models where everything was thrown at them.

Here is the interior

I'm pretty sure that my '65 estate had different seats to yours.

Glad Alan looked after your transport, he’s a good bloke.
A little but not much, the strut tops have never ever been welded and are like new there's one outrigger holed but there's a new one in the boot and it needs a new exhaust but there's a full new system in the boot :o

Funny you should say that, my strut tops were solid too even though the outriggers needed attention. Mind you, mine was only 25 years old at the time.

Does this mean that yours has to have seat belts fitted?
