Bet you glad now that the white '72 isn't still in your workshop being worked on. Especially with the way classic car prices could well be heading.

The market still seems to be pretty firm at the moment with no bargains just yet. I keep looking for anything that might be worth a punt but nothing so far except a Mulsanne turbo for 3.5k that looks mildly tempting although the mot history is not the best.

sad to see that one go, it was worth way more than it went for... I know etc "worth what someone prepared to pay" but still it was 35-40 all fucking day long

Still at least it allowed me cashflow to step forwards one step.

Market death? not so sure about that, auctions are not so bad and if it collapses I have cash - just do not tell the mrs

Certainly not death nor a crash at the moment. However the market has definitely been subdued over the last year or two and especially on a lot of the expensive/high brow stuff since the last 3 or so years. Going through the big named auction sold catalogues from recently have a lot of stuff either not selling, just about hitting reserve or if lucky then guide price. Seems like sellers not budging on price just yet.

Unfortunately a lot of 80/90s stuff is still commanding decent money though.

Possibly quite a lot of people sat at home bored with an itchy trigger finger?

They may have the cash to buy now but might need it in the not too far future.
In my view it's going to make the 2008 Financial Crisis look like a minor blip.

Found myself marooned in Devon since the weekend before the lockdown, because some twat ate a fucking bat.

Mrs and my sons are all at home and safe. Anyway enough of that. into w3 of lockdown.

anyway fitting up the masters and pedals to the bulkhead was pretty straight forwards clutch and throttle are height adjustable. Brake pedal is fixed height. old loom went back in, labelling up the main chunks helped cleaned the fusebox up, crazy selection of fuses fitted. all should be lucas 35amp (blow rating) which is about 17.5amps constant. one was 35amp constant, might as well have been a nail. explains why there are some melted wires doors fitted back in place, door tops will follow next paint on the bulkhead clashes somewhat with the rest of the car, annoyingly found my colour gauge which I was convinced was 200 miles away. Anyway this one was close enough so ordered up a litre which turns out to be a different fucking shade again. gah rear nearside brakes that I was told were rebuilt were proper fucked, slaves were a mess also hub seal had blown because the axle breather is proper blocked up part 2 is on the way

As the hub had to come off to replace the blown seal I might as well remove the backplate, clean it up and fit new brakes never ever seen a steel brake ferrule stripped bare by an aluminium slave cylinder. reckon it was glued in Passenger rear was much easier, just fitted new shoes and slave. The exhaust is holed just forwards of the rear silencer but they are like £20 to fix that section making up brake lines and the faithful old flare tool brake, damn it! fitting up the steering arms and the link arm that connects the two hubs is bent on one end such that I cannot fit the track end. Need to drink more I think removed thermostat housing because it looked ganky, turned out to have the wrong thermostat wedged in plus a split on the head casting where some monkey had hammered the wrong sized bolt in luckily the crack doesnt extend down more that 2mm, fingers crossed, thread recut for correct bolt the hub seal seat was rusted, luckily it is the earlier style where the old seat can be removed and next ring drifted on. saves on the cost of a complete stub axle part 3 coming up
