Even just reading your updates make me feel tired and lazy.....Good stuff!

Seeing that Bahama Gold 2 door scrapper takes me back to getting into an identical one in Steel's of Southampton showroom as a brand new car - my grandad was picking up his P6 from the service bay and the salesman let me "try" the new R-R. I was about 11/12 I suppose. Hard to reconcile them getting knackered enough to look like that. Yeah, I know it was 50 bloody years ago but still...!

Then I started digging into the drivers side a-post to sill section. It was never going to be a fairytale

But before I could fix it I had to nip down to Devon to strip two Range Rovers down for parts - Here if you want to look

RR #1 mid 1970s - chassis was the best of the two so opted to keep this intact to transport the parts

RR #2 stripped down to just a bulkhead which ironically was the best part of the chassis and bodyframe

chassis was more like an upside down U section than a box section. Mr reciprocating saw made light work of the remains

Axles are half decent and complete. Here looking as the remains of the chassis are lobbed into the scrap trailer

The series3 SW rear tub that I bought is now loaded onto the half decent RR chassis along with a V8 and 4 speed LT95 and overdrive transmission.

Originally I was unsure about what to do with the base of the b-post, however when I cut away the outer sill I could see a patch over rust. opted to chop the base off the b-post and fit a repair section

last bit for now

rebuilt the base of the a-post which had rotted out on the inside too. it is only flat sheets of steel originally spot welded so easy enough to fix

Bloody hell. You make me look like some guy waving his arms around when circling a car, but not actually ever touching it!
How many hours do you have into this now?

They do but the intercooler input end of the turbo needs to be rotated slightly.

this turbo is the wrong way round for a Land Rover.
