No, I have a Freelander and it's unreservedly the most flawed vehicle I have ever owned. Quite an achievement for its manufacturer when you consider that I've had 2 Marinas, an Allegro, 3 varieties of sidevalve Fords.

Bit of a whoosh there. I was implying that landcruiser is a "proper motor" compared with Richard's things.

i'll let you have all the land cruisers Ben.

Funny how I only ever see small men driving them 😂

And Bar room bores ranting on about - "to drive out of the desert you need a Toybloater". No deserts in Englandshire last time I looked, and only one in Europe. I'll hang onto Lode Lane 😎 and all the fun they bring thanks.👍

Never driven a toybloater and have no intention to find myself doing so. I just find them bland in the extreme

If I need an allrounder, that swallows hundreds of motorway miles with ease, goes off road, can tow 3.5 tons and is reliable* and when it does pause can invariably bee fixed with a hammer* then Classic Rangie wins Top Trumps shootout in every category😲 else I would be driving around in something old and saloony not a dick extension that needs a computer technician to tell me why it wont go no more while raping my credit card

I almost agree with your Top Trumps nomination, but I'd replace the Rangie with an early Disco (which is largely the same as the soft-dash RR Classic anyway but cheaper).
On the road:
1998 Disco 4.0 V8 (manual)
1994 Vauxhall Calibra 3.0 V6

Running but need fettling:

1986 Honda CBX750F
1991 Maserati 222 SE
1990 Yamaha XJ900F

Tax & MOT-exempt, woohoo!

1982 Suzuki GSX1100SZ Katana

Only small men can fit into a ("series") land rover thingy.

By the way, the land cruiser thing was meant to be a joke.

I have been looking for an s1 2 door for ages. they all seem to have dissolved, no point having a 4 door because I already have a RR. I want the 2 door disco as a load carrier. faced with a project the RR would be worth a little more at the end so why restore the poor old disco

BUT no self levelling suspension nor ABS nor AirCon nor 3.9 v8 option

Still would have a 2 door disco1, might even do it as a 200tdi :o 8-)
