cuntacular
which is the award I would give to the cretin who repaired this car in the past.
this for instance, is the lumpage of filler located around the rear seat belt mounting point.., this is the void that should be the lower b-post section and protect occupants. Here it is largely made up of fresh air The d-post (goalpost) and lower cross member were barely attached but in good order This is the afore mentioned rear seat belt mounting. as you might see below it the inner arch is double skinned (usually foreskin... single skinned). the seatbelt mount was held between the two skins with filler. un fuckin believable. nobody in the history of ever would have taken a step back from this and thought "yeah, I done good" the outer repair to the b-pillar was pulled away from the p-post and sill by hand. ffs . really? And then the clammy cold feeling works its way up your neck! "what if the same person "welded" the inner and outer sill sections together?" .... yep Somewhat paradoxically it took me less time to loosely fix replacement panels than it took me to remove the shite bodges yet to weld anything but already safer than what I pulled out B-pillar was rebuilt using 18 gauge steel repair sections. and all of a sudden the LH passenger door shuts nice every time The open face of the LH door looks worse now because of no paint.. but is infinity % better Don't ban the use of filler, just execute those who use it inappropriately
One more to come

Don't know what is more concerning - that somebody took money for that repair or that the person buying it risked their neck without knowing.

Bring you fine cunts up to speed but way ahead of where my revenue generating yootoob channel is
Here is the outside edge of the LH inner wing reconnected with the seat back mount mountings and also the spare wheel carrier. Here it is welded to the b-post, floor, arch and d-post it might look the same as the before photo but weighs 2 kg less. Also by this point I had removed the rear goalpost (top / bottom tailgate frame) and here is the miserable example that I removed from my poor customers, poor car. the flex along the top rail was in the "been in the North sea for 10 years" range I had to abandon work as it was a weekend and I promised my long suffering wife a walk out with friends. Here we are half way MY wife Jax loves our friends dog more than she loves me I fear. can live with that Green frame came from customer car, red item came from a hopeless car I scrapped for parts uprights from red section were 7000% better and thus used. Top cross member was almost as bad however I spliced the uprights to a top cross member I bought from a break in the Netherlands - used to be Holland - and from a 1988 donor. even the spot welds were mm perfect When welded together and with some caution. it fit like a fucking glove. This job is way better than retirement, I love it

Knowing the gent who bought the car and whom I am working for, I feel for him. He knew nothing and took folk for their word.mercrocker wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 7:19 pm Don't know what is more concerning - that somebody took money for that repair or that the person buying it risked their neck without knowing.
