Realised when I hit submit I didn't copy/paste the close tag but cba to fix and I knew someone on here would love to fix it.

Some serious bodging put right there. It would be worth paying a couple of grand to get it painted properly - in the correct primrose as you won't be keeping it. That pale blue is really nasty.

I'm quite amazed it hasn't fallen apart when driven. They were so weak, I popped them off by twisting a flat headed screwdriver between panels.

Can't say I am a massive fan of Iris Blue either. But definitely not a fan of Primrose Yellow either. Get what you are saying about getting it back to original factory colour and I also do like Yellow. However Primrose Yellow is too washed out for me. Also it's actually spent longer as Iris Blue than anything else.


If I went a colour change I would be seriously tempted with Damask Red or even Vermilion.



Probably the right colour card for this era Midget when ordered?



Change of colour would also mean a complete strip down as it'd look shit if the engine bay isn't completely painted too. I want to get it back on the road before doing that.

Any yellow is excellent for not loosing in a carpark

I'd do it one of the greys. It hides a multitude and the engine bay would be easier to do.

Damask is bland and Vermillion is just wrong for a sixties car and too bright.

I think the reds are always a popular resale colour on these though. Plus I don't have any red cars. Too many bloody blue.
Greys and whites are a bit boring.

In the old chicken shed unit next to the old chicken shed I store my cars, there is a small car body repair + paint company. Might ask them to see how much they'd charge for prepping and painting a chassis. Probably not possible nowadays for a decent job, but I'd have it done professionally if I could get it done for around 2k.

But then by the time I've stripped it down, I'd probably decide I might as well push it into the middle of the garden and do it myself. Weather's been too shit recently for that yet anyway.

Last night I put it back on four wheels. Decided to drop it before putting the panel on to allow things to bend back into a more natural shape than possibly would be on an angle with Jackstands. Tyres are 2004, fucked and need replacing.




Removed the seized up NLA heater control and got it moving again. Fan switch works too. There is a manual fan switch that I'll keep but I'll probably put this through a relay to prolong its life further. No doubt the contacts are the usual weedy Lucas and will knacker quickly switching an inductive load.



Any suggestions for durable paint to refurb this knob?
