Yeah looking through my video, I can't see an extra stud behind that thermostat housing. So unlikely even to have a cooper head plonked on it. Oh well.

Must be some redeeming aspects to this car somewhere.

Did Midgets come with 11 stud heads?
No. They were a standard cooking 1275 with 8.8:1 CR and twin carbs. 65 bhp.

You can drill the holes in the block and fit an 11 stud head. You can fart about and get it up to 75 bhp or whatever, but the S block is different and won't fit, neither will the crank.

190 is where it is meant to be. That's the beginning of efficiency range. It I recall it's a 6lb system so you can hit about 218-220 before you'll start to puke coolant.
They get hot in traffic. The radiator is reasonable but the fan is dire. Normal.

50 psi oil, hot is superb! 72 psi is the relief. Anything over about 5psi and you're doing fine. Sounds like it needs the carbs set up though.

Slightly crunchy around the edges yes. Bad? Nope. Cheap sportscar!

Just close your eyes, every time you get in it and drive the bugger.

If you find you REALLY jell with it, then finish your other projects and get back to do a rolling resto on this one.

I’ve learned from hard and expensive experience, that more than one project (okay maybe two) is more than I can ever handle and have a family and have a job! Too many projects will drive you insane!

Nice walk around video. :)

Just watched the video, that's a wobby little cunt. Pictures were slightly* flattering.

Looks like a case of there being pitted/crusty metal that was probably sanded back and fillered over to give a smooth finish which has since all cracked/re-rusted. Standard "older resto, needs a bit of TLC", aka, needs restoring again, but properly.

As long as the structure isn't all fucked it looks like an amusing WBOD which could be tarted up with cheapo panels if you ever finish the Mog/Dolly and have space/time.

I like the twin air boxes, one taking in coldish air, and one taking in hot air from the back of the engine bay.

More filler, rattle can and let some other mug restore it properly* after you've had your 12 minutes of fun with it.

As the seller hadn't sent off the V5, I had the previous owner (to him) address on the one I had. Side note, if I'd known he only got it this year, I wouldn't have got it.

Anyway, some Streetview Snooping shows clearly what has happened here.

June 2021 is when the seller bought it.

Car covers are on the same hate list as filler. While useful for light use, they're too overly used and do more harm than good.

Aye I've never known a cover that hasn't caused more damage than it saved. With the exception of lightweight indoor ones.
