Re: 1968 MG Midget
Just bloody drive it!
Oh & to look in the sills, jacking point just roll the carpet back. There's big gaps in the inner sill you can see though, as I'm sure you're aware it's a three part sill construction.

omg who sent Simon Mr Tappy?
Tape over what you knocked off and drive it, these things are a hoot. I can get in and out of one but not with the roof up. Guessing the same would be for the hardtop.

I have no idea! No one has admitted yet. Possibly someone who's bought one of my cars before though, given they had my address
I have no problems getting in or out - I'm not sure what the fuss is all about when people say these are hard to get in and out!richardthestag wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 7:10 pm Tape over what you knocked off and drive it, these things are a hoot. I'd imagine someone taller might have more difficulty with the hard top. Would give something for someone to grab onto though.

- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

From my position of no expertise at all that looks fine. As the others have said put the tappy hammer away, get the carbs sorted and drive it.

Btw, if you need a windscreen frame I've got one. No corner brackets though, buggered if I know why I've carted it around for 12 years or so either.

That torch magnet is far too strong for that job, it will stick through the filler. You need to commandeer a fridge magnet ideally.

Oh yes that's what I did wrong with the Dolomite. However it does show at least there is some metal underneath! Also the weight of the torch wants to pull it off, so it needs to be fairly close to steel for it to grab.angrydicky wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 9:03 pm That torch magnet is far too strong for that job, it will stick through the filler. Re: 1968 MG Midget
Oh god please guys stop worrying poor sic about his latest toy. Just so long as he leaves it alone and just enjoys it before all the fun disappears in a thread full of filler dust and rotten panels. I used to be like it but learnt the hard way. Just ignore the failings and enjoy the car. There are a few local meets over Christmas and New year
