Re: Roland's trials and tribulations
Fucked off. Just noticed the older gearbox has different bolt hole spacing for starter to the newer style which means new flywheel, starter, clutch etc which is very much cost prohibitive. Yes school boy error. I've now got 2 options. 1 is refit the borked box, ignore the noises and sell the older style box for hopefully what it owes me. 2 is strip older gearbox and shove it all into the new casing. Now considering the new (to me) old style box is an unknown quality on a scale of 1 to cunt how much of a pain will option 2 be?

Option 2.
You have the bearing lists. Add a front/rear/top gasket, a couple of seals and three detent springs.

Where's that picture of a boy pointing at an engine and saying "it's fucking fucked, mate, big time" when you need it?

Re: Roland's trials and tribulations
Found numerous metal chunks and odd square type washers floating in its oil when we stripped the box. We have also find something interesting. An early type box will mate up to the engine with a later type starter, flywheel etc. Had to put thinner bolts in but it seems to hold ok. Will fo until I either rebuild old box or find another

Roland needs dentures!
That box does look fucked. You think the failed teeth are the fault? or a result of say a dead bearing so they don't mesh properly?
