It may be a bit nose heavy too and detract from the pleasurable chuckability. They did put the 3.0 in the 406. Ever driven one of these?

I've driven a diesel 406. Some of the worst seats I've ever sat in.

There is room for a V8.

Ah fair enough. Maybe the width couldn't accommodate a gear box then? Saying all that though the 405 is an 80s car and a V6 engine may e wasn't a priority in its manufacturer.

Back in late 1993 I'd spent a successful night conkers deep inside a lady pulled at The Ritzy nightclub in Burnley after visiting a friend who lives there. On the way home I got into a three way race in my RS1600i with an Aston Martin DB6 and a 405Mi16. The Aston won with the 406 losing out due to the lack of bends on that particular stretch of dual carriageway.

I think that's more like the real answer. Even the wonderful V6 version of the Alfa 156 feels quite a bit more nose heavy and less filcky (Is that a word? Is now) than the 1750 and 2 litre versions.

The MeSez is meant to be quite a weapon, did they ever make a turbo version?

Yes, the T16, but only 1,061 were made. 1,001 for homologation purpose and 60 for the French police.

Pretty much all the people who have travelled in mine have commented on the comfort of the seats, and the more discerning have commented on how much visibility there is all round. It is a very attractive car, and despite being 28 years old my only rusty bits are on the inner door tops where the rubbers have worn through the paint. Prices for good ones are rising.

I always found the seats comfy enough although headroom was a bitch if the car had a sunroof, the seats where hight adjustable but just wouldn't go low enough and I rubbed off all my hair.
