None of the lighting is original they are strip led's and really light it up in there. The whole deck is new and raised about 6 inches. It can still be used as a hearse though if need be so it doesn't fall foul of any modified vehicle shit that the clowns at DVLA are cracking down on.

I thought they might be leds but then I wondered if they were some 70s tastic invention like the sequencing indicators on Thunderbirds

Probably should of updated this thread as the hearse has given me a bit of grief but it did still manage a 1000km run down to Le Mans and back without breaking.
A week before leaving I found a rear wheel bearing had failed so after a bit of panic rockauto saved the day. New bearing fitted and set off for France. The fuel gauge is a bit unreliable so I have been filling it up every 250km, it takes about 70 euros a time so not the most economical of motors. I will swap the new carb back on and see if that improves things. As a camper it was actually pretty comfortable but it is just as awkward to "live" in as a tent. The blinds do a good job though and the fridge was really good and doesn't drop the leisure battery at all during the day with the solar panel connected. Running the fridge at 1 degree and the tv dvd on for an hour or two overnight takes the battery down to about 60%. Once the sun is up it charges back up to 100% within a few hours. I would certainly recommend Renogy solar set ups. Mine was £100 that includes the panel wth fixings, controller and all cables.
I am off to France again at the end of the month for the classic Le Mans but have a few more jobs to do. I need to change the rest of the wheel bearings as it had a slight vibration coming home so is probably worth doing. The heater matrix also started leaking slightly so a new one is on the way. The only other thing I need to do is have the wheels balanced which has turned into the hardest thing to sort as no one locally could balance 5 stud centerless wheels. I also had a bit of a problem with the fucking expensive GT badges I got from Spain. These buggers are reproductions but at 50 euro I was expecting slightly better enamelling. Does anyone know where I might be able to get these done again in the UK by someone who knows what they are doing.

I would have thought as the South West's premier French car botherer, you'd have the kit.

I've got some dings to get out of a Cyclone 2 wheel. Anyone you can suggest in the UK to do that and refurb them?

Pamela David Enamels did a good job rebuilding some old Fiat badges for me, many moons ago. Someplace south west I did it by mail order.
Steepish price, but a good job, in the timescale specified.

Glad you’re using it. Love the look, not sure I could Kip in it.

Thanks for that Nigel they aren't that far from me so I might see if I can pop over to see them to find out the score. The fuel consumption is pretty horrific but other than that it is quite a decent drive. Not fast by any stretch but smooth and not too bad for an American design.

After returning from le mans I have had the old hearse off the road for a bit of bodywork to the roof. It had a vinyl roof that was bubbling so it has to go. It was a lot better than I thought it would be so had it done in body colour. Today I finished off putting the window surrounds back in. Next job is to install the solar panel on the roof and fit the bigger radiator I picked for it.
