That driver is a braver person than me. Especially with no roll bar.
Good god.

No worse than a VW Beetle, Chevrolet Corvair and several others with a swing axle. Unsafe at any speed, etc.

I believe the Herald didn't suffer too much from its suspension as it had too little power for anyone to get it into trouble. Spitfire they added a bit more power and problems came up. GT6 added even more power and...

There are ways to fix it and many manufacturers did.

Quite a few swing axle setups on here:

2 Litre Vitesses, on the other hand.....

I've never forgotten being in one of those.

the paintwork is hand done and not good – the photos flatter it considerably
hmm? Can't be that bad?

Rubbed down with a house brick first…….

When there were knackered Heralds on the road in their thousands, sudden rear wheel+axle shaft loss was not unknown. I even saw it happen once; car making a sharp low speed turn and the inside rear wheel just wandered out from the car on it’s shaft.
I’ve never driven one, but often passengered and remember them as feeling very rickety.
Always envied the spectacular under-bonnet access.

First thing I ever drove was a Herald. I was 14. Later on, I turned one down for a fiver as I didn't like the colour.....Mate bought it and spent £200 on a respray - a fuck-ton of money back then. All it did was highlight the panel gaps....

Aye, they're well easy to work on but they always felt like sitting in a bath-tub to me.

Mother Honda was a fan

She later had a Vitesse and after getting married, parents Honda bought a new 13/60 estate.

Threw a last minute bid in at £6675 but wasn't quite enough to win this. Shame.

Shame, that's lovely. Even the dodgy wheels suit it.

Bidded at £6274 like 10mins before. Waited last minute to throw 6675 in but someone else bidded higher as I hit accept.

Shame as looked not a bad one. Some grot but not that bad. It is a lot to spend sight unseen though. For that money I could almost get a Midget and Spitfire if I buy at the right time.
