It's basically a factory hardtop added during production. These Dispatcher Jeeps were not the same beast as a normal CJ5, considerably lighter in frame construction and as far as I know were all 2WD. It was in other words built down to a price and pretty specific to postal duties although other variants were built as well.
The design hardly altered throughout production.

I actually kind of like this...
I would have tried a bit harder to hide the repair patches though.
OK, so a couple of panels are the wrong colour but it is a great looking old bus IMHO.
It's so funny as well - I could tell it was in Ireland just by looking at the picture of it outside the house.
Time's been quite kind to these.

I believe there are people here with the stomach for this sort of thing, not me though.
I have had a look at that and it is interesting but I don't like the amount of rot around the windows. I have still got my eye on a couple of spanish hearses but with all these lock downs and shit I can't see me getting anything for a while.
