Looking this over online it seemed very well worn for the miles, and bingo!

I still remember a very well-dressed salesman who worked for a highly reputable BL dealership out in the New Forest telling my friend (he was married to the guy's cousin) what a bastard to clock the new Golfs were.....

I didn't find him any less credible than the time I was with another mate who had a car lot in the Southampton back streets. His spanner monkey shouted out from the adjoining workshop asking how many miles he wanted on the Micra. Jeff just shook his head and said "Good job that was only you I was talking to in 'ere eh?"

As long as people still obsess about mileage and don't look beyond those digits there will be rewind merchants....

Cavaliers were the easiest to clock. Bought several mega miles from the auctions. They used to hide their miles well and still have many miles left in them but were unsaleable when there was 200k on the clock. 89,000 always looked good I thought.

Clocked an Uno once that had done way too many for it to be saleable. Spoke to the chap I sold it to a few years later and he still had it. Said how reliable it was and was happy that as soon as it got to 74,999 it would click back to 74,000.

That Nissan could have had a second hand dash replaced.

There are loads of Scenic II with low mileage after their dash has conked out for the n-th time and replaced with a brand new one from the dealers.

Usual tail-tale is when MOT records became online. Clocking became a less of a thing. Just left taxi drivers and financed cars clocked just before they were tested or serviced.

I think that Murano will be a tough sell. It is shabby in many places, but the main issue with them is they have a 3.5 V6 Petrol engine and a CVT auto box. £580 annual road tax and 23 MPG on a good day - and no real redeeming features.

It could but the condition suggests it's done at least the total of the two mileages.

Pre-Farina Austin in the Parts section. Boot Rack can get in the sea.

That didn't stop Ghosty being caught out with his Jag, but I guess he never bothered to check.
