It's just nice to see a genuine survivor. There can't be too many Beetles that still have their original piece of card protecting the voltage regulator let alone have their original spare wheel well.

It's just a shame it isn't a '67 1500. I'd pay fifteen grand for one of those in that condition.

Agreed, having been around these things when new (albeit as a sprog) I have clear memory of some of those details. The 1200s were always boggo, though, the larger engined Beetles having more in the way of creature comforts.

Here is my Microlite 500cc with hand glider and road trailer.
Listing as spares and repairs as it’s been in storage and needs a carburettor clean, then should run.
The wings will need repairing as been in storage don’t have the time to repair and need the space.
I have a recoil to put on it, not had a chance to put it on and not had it running due to recoil needs repairing.

Another blue survivor. £9k with less than 9000miles.

2.8 manual, lovely! I'd rather pay £9k for that than whatever shitty modern you can get for the same money.

I was thinking that too. In all seriousness, I probably have got one major car purchase left in my meagre "retirement" fund and yes I do count ten grand as "major" - three times the amount I have ever spent in one go on any vehicle.

I would seriously consider something like that instead of a pile of modern deteriorating shite, if only because I would enjoy driving it far more. With careful maintenance that should outlast me......

It won't if it gets nicked. Very highly prized for banger racing. If you have one you MUST keep it locked up at night, they can get lifted with straps underneath.

Aye the only problem with such a good car, is you can't use it as a car.

I can't imagine that'll pass it's Betts Test anytime soon (annual flex-wing fabric test) . That said it's probably light enough to pass under Single Seat Deregulated (SSDR) where, a bit like classic MOT exemption, testing and approvals isn't required.

(I've heavily looked into learning to fly microlights and maybe something I approach to do again soon - probably my next big hobby after cars)
