The V8 one looks a bit mental! Too wide for me, but that's what comes from nailing german rubbish underneath I guess.

That dark blue Super's got a bit of V8 in it too - a Stag speedo by the look of it! Rootes warning lights too....WTF?

Here's a rather worried-looking Farina.......with good reason I fear.

Fairly unmolested 100E, soon to be utterly fucked by some ZTEC mong. Being sold by another ZTEC mong who hasn't even bothered to find out what year it is...

Ah well, anything is better than the engine that Ford put in these things. So long as everything else is left looking standard, I would like one.

Prefect's a post-57 on a 2008 reissue plate....Those diffs could barely cope with a side-valve so it isn't just a matter of throwing in a Zetec! Best outcome for that Prefect would be to live out its days pottering around Cornwall with an bi-annual decoke and Vactan session. The Notek foglamp and scabby wing should both stay unmolested too....

Lincolnshire might just be acceptable but Cornwall has hills. Misery in one of those things.

They always did well on the Lands End trials, though.....

1172cc sidevalve. I believe an oil filter was optional equipment. Like Mercrocker says they did well in trials cars, Dellow making famous use of Ford bits. The owner's club seems very active for these old tubs and some people really rate them, but I'm past that low output nonsense now. That people actually went on long journeys in cars like this is amazing.

Actual 100Es and the upright things used to be successfully trialled too - not on out and out mud-plugging events but on overnight road/hill events back in the day. A 107E is a much better prospect with its 4 speed box and Kent engine in the same bodyshell - you are halfway to a useable car. I'm not so much averse to the low power as the continued flipping maintenance with the things.....
