£5k is a bit steep, £500? maybe I'd give it a go. I could have that running again in a day if I still had Dad's shed full of Beetle junk. It didn't take much longer than that to get this one going again after he forgot to re-connect the fuel pipe between carb and pump. Proper need-a-fire-engine fire as well that was.

Neighbours were somewhat amazed at it's rapid return to service. Smelled a bit funny inside ever after!

Interesting* fact, just after the Waldorf shooting my girlfriend thought that a dodgy looking cross dresser getting on a bus in The Aldwych late one night was David Martin. She told two Coppers we passed in Bow Street, who went running down the road after the bus. There was nothing in the paper about a mass bus shooting , so no harm done.
