I have never driven the Primera GT but I knew a girl once whose stepdad had one and he loved it and they do seem to be very well regarded. I had a 200SX many years ago - is the Primera similar to that?

No, completely different platforms - 200SX was rear wheel drive, the Primera a FWD layout. The 2.0 engine may have been a similar unit, though.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......
