Can't help thinking that if Ford had drawn a proper boot on these not only would they have looked better they may not have self-immolated so often when tapped up the arse.....

I'd be disappointed if I pulled a cracker and this deformed object fell out, let alone pay 10 grand for it. Theres got to be cheaper ways to make people piss themselves with laughter.
OK, if you had 10K to spend (and were quick) would you rather look like an irritant from a dull motoring forum, or buy some aviator shades and a loud suit and make like a villain from Mission Impossible....

A pity that one's been ruined but there are so few left. The engine really was the same 2000 OHC as the Cortina, made in Germany and shipped over until Ford USA could tool up and make their own, the Puma (2.3).
The Pinto was also built with the Dagenham built/supplied 1600 Crossflow. Dropped around 1973.

... and spend the rest on welding wire and petrol.
I still want a manual XJS one day, 3.6 or 4.2 I'm not fussy as both are meant to enjoy revs more than the other sizes. They are the sexy long low coupe the E-Type never was.
If I had moved house sooner, I would have snaffled the XJS V12 that was the ex-triplex. Converting that useless three speed slush box to a manual box would have been on the top of the priority list.
