Re: EBay Finds
Or make it live up to its name with a C Series - preferably out of an A95...

Re: EBay Finds
The whole car was a shonky heap of shit. Even Karmann, the German God of Rust could built better cars.

Or a Vauxhall slant 4 as that's 'apparently' what the Lotus engine was based on, which Jensen obligingly did a lot of the development work.

Re: EBay Finds
I think the customers also did a lot of development......Wasn't this the Lotus 907 (Elite, Eclat et al) which I seem to recall only used a Vauxhall core? It never really got a very good reception did the J-H which is a shame really as there were plenty of MGB and TR6 buyers looking for something else.

Yeah - that's why I put 'apparently' as there were a lot of conflicting stories at the time as far as I remember.
I seem to think that it was priced pretty high as well, I (well my dad and I) bought an 18 month old MGB in 1976 and this was well out of our budget even if we really stretched it.

Re: EBay Finds
Colin Chapman was a sly bugger. He sold Jensen the 900 engine and the JH customers did all the development work. By the time they used it in the Elite it was a half decent engine.
The JH was a rust prone POS based on Viva underpinnings. It wasn't even good looking. Anyone wanting a proper sports car above the MGB bought a 105 2000 Spider and a Ziebart session.

Great, isn't it? I think he managed one full frame in the whole listing....Given that pic must be at least 9 months old I shouldn't think the arches have improved or the chances of it running again either.
