So, door lock buttons. Do you have a technique to get them back on again? Are they meant to be disposable items??

Whether they are meant to be disposable items or not I know not, but they sure are.

Youve started Sam off with her Ye old stories..........................

She has been looking over my shoulder

I recognise that Interior she said, then ive had all the sories about when back in the day she bought a Caravan :?

Stick with it...............

Car she had at the time didnt have the guts so on recomendation back then in yonder times she bought a 4 oh 5 to pull it!

I get the feeling from how she waxed lyrical she thought more of the car than caravanning

So you now have two of us following this thread

It took me longer to get the door lock button back on than it did changing the lock motor. I thought it was me just not getting it. I like both of your 405s but the estate has got to be one of the best colours on a 405

In answering this back in January, I'll copy, edit and paste...

Aye there are two methods.

1 - The official method.

The lock lifter button is coloured to the interior of the car:

Which breaks. If it is still available from Pug/Cit then it's part number 9159.54. Used on 405 ph1 & 2, 806 and Citroen Evasion.

2. Giffer method.

Gut a chocolate block connector...

The rest of the info is here: http://www.forum-405.com/t26166-tuto-re ... des-portes

Looked up Pug Servicebox and they are showing at a mere 50 eurocent each including Irish VAT (23%) from the dealer. Couldn't log into the Pug Servicebox account with Autoshite credentials as it came up with "Your country is not configured, please contact your administrator. (servicebox-contact@mpsa.com)" bollocks. Logged into Citroen Servicebox with Autoshite credentials and it was quoting a whopping 89p each inc UK VAT. That's twice the bloody price! They really are farting in your general direction. Also all the buttons and surrounds are showing NFP, so down the scrappy for them.

It's my (second?) cousin that had the white estate, not my uncle.

Way back in the day, 2 of my dad's work colleague struck it rich on the Pools. They promptly went out a bought a 405 Mi16x4 thingy. They loved them and they looked great. Did they have BX rear suspension? Anyway, could you imagine a lottery winner going out and buying a mid range Pug to celebrate now?

I agree though, 405s, while they were no Montego were bloody good.
