I roughly went Hemsley, Stokesley, Lord Stones, Saltburn on Sea, down the coast for Whitby, Scarborough and to Brid. Then back via the smaller roads avoiding York & coming out near Goole (not sure on names I just guessed my route).
I thought that the cliff railway was as well.
Where was that?
That was Saltburn.

In isolation they are ok, its just when you ride them back to back with a contemporary Hornet or FZS600 then the cracks really show.

I've never ridden either of them tbh, the last 600 I rode was a RF600R with a bent frame & serious carb issues.

The last 600 I ride was a R6 when they first came out, couldn't believe how little and light it felt compared to my FZ600 or CB900....

Was testing it for one of Bub's mates who doesn't have a licence yet. Wasn't bad, needs a few bits doing but uncomfortable compared to mine as the seat was too hard.

To be fair 600 quid for a running and MOTed bandit wasnt a bad price. I'm not a fan if it but itsnot my type of bike anyway.

This motorbike bike reminds me of those cars you see at shows with just a polished engine under the bonnet , seemingly with just a throttle cable ,petrol pipe and radiator , and every other cable ,loom , washer bottle and battery etc hidden. I kept looking at the rider thinking his face was familiar but couldn't put a name to it ! Google images says Jackie Ickx ! Course it is !

As the weather was so lovely today I decided to start taking my bike apart to make sure it's ready for Germany next week. Damn good job I didn't leave it till next week to do so due to this afternoon's discovery.

The day started well, forks stripped, cleaned out and rebuilt.
Steering bearings checked and regreased.
Front brakes rebuilt.
Clutch fluid bled through.
Teabag cleaned.
Throttles balanced.
One of the two tyres I've ordered arrived.
Then I moved to the back of the bike.
Rear brake rebuilt.
Wheel out and oh...FFS! both wheel bearings seized solid. Bloody things have only done 17k!
Swingarm out and bearings cleaned and greased, still original and still fine.

So tomorrow I need to get hold of wheel bearings and chase my tyre. I'm changing the front bearings again too as where all replaced together.

I'll never buy 'all balls' bearings again, they aren't fit to be fitted to bikes.

I've got bearings arriving at a local shop at lunchtime, so after breakfast I'll get the old ones out ready & refit the swingarm.

Now I just need the damn tyre to arrive.
