You recall I did this a couple of weeks back?

All paid for, collecting when it’s not pissing down or icy cold. I don’t fancy putting it in the van….

Well, yesterday- I did this

Benelli 1130 Tre k, the touring Tornado. Supposedly same colours although precious little green that I can see.

Being delivered down from the frozen wastes tomorrow, which I’m looking forward too.

Now I’ve just got to tell the wife. Permission/ forgiveness jobbie, me’thinks.

I very nearly got my marching orders after I entered the marital home and informed the dear lady I had just P/X'd the brand new (but deadly boring) CB1300 S for a Benelli Tornado Tre in the same green/silver as the one you are getting. It was the under-seat radiators/fans that just boiled over the 'want' meter!

Fortunately for my marriage, I was joking... but only cos the salesman was a twat and wouldn't give me a decent price for the HONDA!

I'll leave this here, was going to put it on the Gazza thread. Next year when I've got a big boys bike I may get myself an elf costume and fuck off down there if I can put up with Bristol for more than a few minutes.

I took the bike out for a ride this morning, just because I could, pissing with rain, windy as fuck and I had a great time.
Obviously it would be nicerer in the summer, but at least the roads were quiet.
I keep reading on Facebook about people putting their machines away for the winter and I don't understand it.
It's not bravado, motorcycle gear is so good nowadays and good tyres grip even in the wet, why wouldn't you ride all year round?
Ice and snow not withstanding it is perfectly doable.

Only reason that makes sense to me is bikes aren't built to be used outside. Get rain, or worse salt, on them and they rot in no time.

I'd say that's down to poor materials, bad galvanising, poor chrome/Nickel/paintwork. Plus a little bit of better design needed around hollow components/rust traps?
I'm old enough to remember bicycles that rusted in what seemed liked minutes, yet, perhaps because of BMX, then mountain biking they've immensely improved. Has the same somehow missed motorcycles? I don't know as my knowledge of motorcycles is very limited.

I think it's down to the vast majority of them being fair weather toys, so it's not an issue for most owners.

Talking about big bikes anyway, not 125s that transport the third world and China.
