New bike needs a new plate, first line of reg is AU11 so it will go onto a smaller than normal plate the 6 digit size but keeping strictly legal letter sizes and spacing.
Can I hell as like find one on eBay with their useless search process they're all tiny, single lines or 9x7

I've got no reflective vinyl otherwise I would do just that like I normally do, however as the kids will eventually ride it I want it to be squeeky clean legal which means a BS marked plate

I ran an rs125 on an R reg about 12 years ago and it was a great bike till it was stolen.
On a private road I saw 110mph on the speedo which is mental for 125cc

Are you sure the speedo wasn't in KPH?

Nope. I'm sure they were the fastest 125 at the time.
It was a downhill section of the A1 between Morpeth and Alnwick though.

The full power ones were 33bhp before being tweeked, my derestricted RD125LC used to be able to hit an indicated 80 and that had about 20bhp.

You only need about 30 horses to bust a ton. The old TZR125s were fairly swift too.

My final much messed with DT125R (which is basically the same engine as the TZR) was rapid and after fitting twin rads it was much less likely to suffer a melt down. Shame I sold them all really they would have been worth really good money now :( I had a decompression lever fitted to manually control the power valve, just a shame I never got the chance to see if I could get a barrel sleeved to suit a WR200 piston.
I even had one of the earliest official UK DT125Rs registered on a E plate, amazingly it had survived with all the one year only parts intact which was a good job as everybody in the trade who saw it assumed it was a ringer.
At a guess I must have had 20 of them over the years, engines were so cheap to rebuild with quality parts and they never really gave any other trouble, the hardest part was trying to buy bikes that weren't stolen.
