The finish is shite on it these days, but then it was after it's first winter & hasn't got a huge amount worse since then. I've not had the fun of rotting wiring yet, but that was an issue on the RF600 I had just after my test. mechanically it's great which is the important thing though.

My 1996 Fireblade had 110,00 (or more) miles on it when I sold it, and the finish was still good, Apart from the headers which had rotted through. I was fed up with it then, as it had been my winter commuter for 3 years at that point.

My Hornet seems to suffer a lot less over winter, I think Honda use real metal not shiney cheese for making bits out of.

Only the Japanese built stuff, the non-Japanese factories can be a bit wank with the finish.

Definately don't buy any Honda made in Spain and expect a decent finish because they were corroding the day they came out of the box!

My Spanish built Honda Deauville is still in excellent condition at 20 years old. But then it would be :-)

It was nearly warm today & sunny so I ignored the draft from the strong breeze & went for a toddle out. Got 37.5mpg from the last tankful of dinosaurs, which considering it the wind & all the short trips it's done in the freezing cold isn't bad. Much better than the 27mpg on a run it was doing when really bad. I might have sorted it...

I tried a local bike cafe, Revs n Relics, for breakfast. It was pretty good so I'll be back there again. Obviously the pic is a different cafe I went to later.

I went out again today & randomly found a mint GSX14 to park next too & scare the owner. He didn't stay too long, I think he was worried about the dirt migrating.

Having thoughts of returning to instructing. This is in budget and would be OK for an instructor bike.
