Two wheels good.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I have had two 350LCs and I think they were the machines I fell off most. Whisper it, but in my opinion the MZ250 I bought a few years later actually handled nicer.

My nephew, who is in his early twenties is working with me atmo, all be keeps on about is Yamaha R3s, he wants to buy one on finance.
I keep trying to put him off, telling him he will get bored with it in short order and if he is going to get finance then he should get a Yamaha 350LC, he says they are too much money, but my argument is that... Yes they are but, when he comes to sell it, it would probably be worth more than he paid for it, unlike the R3 which will lose money every day he owns it. What an insipid machine, ugh!
Still I suppose if I had had an Uncle at that age trying to persuade me to buy a machine that went of production ten years before my birth, I would have resisted as well.

What about him getting a Japanese import 250 or 400 CBR FZR etc? Fast probably more reliable than the LC when ragged silly and not going down in value either.

R3's are fucking shit, really, tell him to buy an MT07 and stop fucking around, they are twice as fast, and a proper bike despite being only a 'little' 700 twin.

350LC's are great, but you couldn't use it as an everyday bike as some cunt would steal it the minute his back was turned.

He is on a restricted licence until he takes yet another test.
He thinks modern bikes are great.
I think any bike made after 1995ish is shit

I personally think R3s are shit, but then I think the bigger part of the 21at century is shit.
Ha! As I type this Neil Young has come on the telly singing Old Man. 😎

The newer rules limit the original bike pre-restriction to about 94bhp.

I had dozens of LCs, 250s as well. Knew the quick and dirty tricks to get a load more power (two base gaskets, no head gasket and careful lapping in to seal them) and loved them all. Blew them up (frequently) rebuilt them, crashed them (broke my ankle the day before I was taking another lass to Silverstone for the bike GP, camping... :) ) spent the night in AandE so took her to the beach instead... funnily enough, I never had one stolen.

I

Xtriple, have you ever thought of writing down your biking memoirs?

I can't be the only person on this forum that would love to read them.
