Is that true? I thought pretty much all pez needed a cat from early/mid 90s - when is the cut off for MOT?

It's a loop hole decat can be classed as part of the lpg conversion process and doesn't need to be present as long as up are running on gas - also sails through the emissions on LPG anyway

Yeap LPG runs too clean for a cat to work properly and it buggers them up. As long as you are running on LPG for the test it passes without a cat. Also pre 2001 cats don't have to be type approved so you can fit cheap shit cats to get them through a test. It is cheaper than fitting an original to get a couple of extra years out of an old shitter.

A friend was saying they got £430 for the manicat from a Corsa C, I was shocked as you could buy a frigging corsa for that. Maverick cat is huge as well!

Thanks for the knowledge folks.

Ok - another question....How many of the 22 take grease first time without an unscrew/unblock/drop on floor/reclean/replace rigmarole?

I have 17 between 2 Morrises and that's enough trouble at times. Was doing them monthly when I was using them for work.....

The only one that ever gives me any trouble is the one on the steering drop link. All the others have remained clear.
I think this grease gun has something to do with it though, I forget the maximum pressure, something stupid like 5 ton if I squeeze it really hard. That's normally enough to clear any blockage.

Yup. My old man had one of these when he was in the RAF, and he still has it. So I went find one. They're damn good. Made in Switzerland, this one's from the 60's.
