Technically was about 5 hours spread over 3 days. Culminating today in most things working to an acceptable level!
Idea was to just pop the pre project drive tourer tool kit in to free up some space in boot. Had done it once before but had forgotten that it involved stripping all trim out of boot area and then fighting with bastardin plastic trim clips when trying to reassemble.
First thing revealed was the gubbins for the gps were still in place. Stripped it oot and disconnected it all, taped up wires.
Discovered tow bar electrics, factory fitted. Must've had double sockets at some point. Found out it was still live! Well sparking
Reassembled and jobs half done. Boot floor lock was broken and 18" spare wheel didnae really fit.
Nipped to lock up to rob some bits of an old 75 tourer. Quickly realised I'd disconnected and tidied up the aerial connection and filed it away with other obsolete cables. Oh well another strip doon and more broken clips!
Slapped in a 16" spare wheel (which now means if I have a front puncture I'll have 2 wheels to swap) tray now sits flush and just broken floor board lock to finish. Swapped lock but realise now why the old one is broken. Board needs adjusted. Fuck about for an hour trying to get the screws i can actually see out and then see what adjustments may become obvious. That'll be none then! Had to struggle in no space to get to main bolts out of hinges. Then just Swapped them round. Ya bastard! It worked. Few fiddly bits to get lock mechanism operating as it should and that's about that.
Fitted chrome hooks instead of plain black ones and replaced the strut that holds boot floor up and even that worked.
So long winded pish for some fairly insignificant stuff but now got loads of space for more useless shit.

After some tinkering with Peugeot planet software and talking to the ecu I've done what folk have said isnt possible and have fully working cruise control on a seimens sid801 ecu. All walkthroughs and guides say it's only possible on the 110 and late 2.0 90s. Mine is an early 2.0 90bhp. The Peugeot planet software and lexia for citroens is worth its weight in gold. The cable and software owes me around 15 quid and I was given an old xp laptop which is used for the software only. Next steps are fitting executive trim level illuminated sunvisors, door puddle lights and going to see about fitting power fold mirrors if I can find some working on a executive being broken for spares. Sill was welded other day too so car is still getting bits of attention where needed.

Bloody hell Bub after all that I hope that your luck changes with this car and it's not hit by a crashing UFO or something similar.

I decided life is too short to argue with someone on the internet that heat soak from the exhaust manifold when it's on the same side as the intake is a significant problem when a high speed run abruptly comes to a lengthy idle.
Also he argued that crossflow engines offer nil benefit in terms of fluid dynamics over sidevalve and non-crossflow designs.

I don't have that kind of bile any more

How funny - I was only thinking about my mate's Dad when we started driving - he insisted Rootes Arrows were superior as they didn't have the troublesome crossflow engines Ford had adopted :)

He obviously has never tried to coax a Minor back up to speed after road works on a dual carriageway.

With the uplifting feeling you get when the revs rise then the immediate sink in the pit of your stomach as it loses power and starts to snap from the carburetor.

Been there done that

Front tyres are getting low and the rears are looking shabby on my transit. Has anyone got any reccomendations for aset of cold weather ones for it?
The fronts are michelins from a qashqai and have been great. Not sure about the legalities insurance wise though.
