I are a learner at cars mind gents...I am a wood chopper by trade and a hobbyist at motorised perambulations, need to reinvigorate the corpse of Junkman for truly omniscient motoring information.

Whip the starter off and try turning the flywheel with a screwdriver in the ring gear? ATF disel mix works well

Taunus V4, theyre fairly lightwieght, I think rather unfairly maligned. Only thing wrong with em is the siamesed exhaust ports

A drop of ATF is a good idea- there is definately play in the balance shaft- thats where they tend to mash bearings, that shouldn't stop it turning over though.

On Saturday I bought a scrap 1991 520i, just to break it, make some $$$ and keep my mind occupied. Stood since 2010 without being started due to OMGHGF. It turned up on my mate's truck looking most forlorn. Put a BFO battery on, turned the key:

*click*

That's seized then. OK.

Tried again with the plugs out and it freed, shooting rusty water from number 3 plug hole. Added some part worn* plugs and tried it again. It barked.

It wanted to start but the gallon of fuel left in the tank was fucked. Added another fresh gallon and the bastard started.

It's already stripped and waiting for the Truck Of Death on Friday. I've already sold a few bits and recouped the £250 outlay with quite a bit more to come (around £700 excluding the catatonic perverter) although these things take time.

The cat looks very juicy, been quoted £250 for that as well but I'll leave it for now. These were making 4-500 before the lockdown. I can wait.

Yesterday I went to U Pull It's reopening after 2 months. It opens at 7.30 and I knew it would be rammed. So, up at 3.45 am, shit/shower/shave, out the door at 4.15 and there for 5.30. I was first there. Within 30 minutes there were about ten Polish/Lithuanian registered vans queued up behind me. I was second in at 7.30 and attacked a Z3 with vigour, removing the mirrors, radio, steering rack, gearlever and others in about 40 minutes. One bloke was a bit arsey as I'd had the mirrors off (they were first, took 5 mins flat). Sorry pal, you should have been up at 4am like I was. Early bird/worm syndrome.
Got loads of stuff and should be a decent 600 quid profit with some stuff already sold. Not a bad day's work but fuck me, I earned it.

E34 shots: Note carpets. I like to work in luxury.

At least it won't have died in vain.....I always think those number plates are the beginning of the end for these cars.
