What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Drove past a vintage event today. A small gathering of vehicles and mostly old Bristol busses. The owners were giving people trips around in the busses. I was tempted but Mrs SiC wanted to get on with sorting the garden today.

I don't know if I got them all, but many cars were local cars and I've probably taken pictures of them before anyway.

Civic rolled over to 100k today. Bought it with 76k on the clock about 1.5yrs ago. Probably high mileage for some - average for year is 60k to 80k miles on a 2015 plate.

I've tried to cut down the amount of miles we do in it by using the TT more instead - was averaging 15k p/a. Not because worried about value (we'll keep this for another 5-10 years or until it dies) but just increases the 10monthly visits (12.5k service intervals) to my local garage for a service.

Having jet washed the drive and walked the dog I went to my local 'spoons for a beer or two. Looked at the real ales, Greene King IPA (£1.77 a pint, 3.6% piss), Doom Bar, £2.06 a pint, 4%, it's shite even in Cornwall) and Greene King Abbot (£2.77 a pint for 5% which is a reasonable drink) then looked at the two guest beers, both are £2.55 a pint.
Marston's Old Empire, 5.7% and Jaipur, 5.9% from Thornbridge at Bakewell.
So after a couple* of Jaipur's what's that got to do with cars etc ?.
Well.by the time I got home my hands looked like this,

and stank of diesel.

Why I hear you ask,

fooking about with this.

Yes it's one of these, one of the local lads owns a few tractors...

Perhaps we need a "On the way back from the pub" thread.

ps, Mrs BMH wasn't overly impressed by my lateness, or the diesel smell.

Finally thought I should pull my finger out and see if I can work out why the Caterham is overheating. Quite a common problem with them.

So took the bodywork off and stared by putting an exhaust wrap on.

Even though I wore gloves, I now have fiberglass in my fingers and arms.

Once I get the car going again, it’s going to smoke like a Player addict!

I try to as, along with his 912 and K-G, I get too envious.

The only thing that makes it bearable is that he's snowed in for 11 months of the year so can't drive them then. :D
