What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Ford haven't quite got the reliability there yet though.
There's a thread on the beige explaining why mine shit itself. Kind of a case of tadts.

Saying that, not sure if still the case with direct injection stuff and their really high pressures.
It drained perfectly clean fuel and blew through the same as the new one.

It’s all strangled by the features and emissions gear. I can guarantee there will not be 180 bhp at the wheels. And the torque on modern engines is non-existent.

I’d hate to be that bloke when the Evoque inevitably shits itself, and he’s left paying £500 a month for a lardy paperweight. The reliability of modern LR products is utter dogshit and I can’t believe people keep buying them.

Tesla did come bottom of the pile until Musk got involved and had them removed because apparently they didn't fit the criteria.

Went to the Abbey hill steam rally in Yeovil today. It was a bit damp and muddy but free entry in a classic (had to book though) It is a 4 day thing and today was the last day. Some interesting stuff but mainly about steam engines and very few cars. I did manage to get some black and silver plates made for the hearse and the Buick at 20 quid a pair for pressed ali, not the best quality but cheap.

Blimey, is that the old Yeovile showground? I used to go to the Cavalcade/festival of Motoring with my olds in the seventies plus the last one with some mates in 2005.

Used to do Yeovil Steam Rally every year when we had the Portafold - in fact this is the first year in ten we haven't attended except for the missing Covid years....Used to park up with Mike - the chap with the Bristol and his Portafold. He alternates taking the Bristol or an ex-Home Office petrol Gipsy but does (or at least he did last time I spoke to him) also own a Gremlin.

I should imagine the Rugby Club did well this weekend with hot dinners given the pathetic outside temperature.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......
