Re: What did you do today?
It's my mate Tom who's the expert on them. I just instigated it all as when asked if I could make a remote turbo manifold for him out of scrap I said yes, then it snowballed.
I've only ever tweaked mine up a bit from standard, Mr Foxhake et al were the ones winding them up, advancing them so that they sound like a ball bearing in a baked bean tin and throwing legs out of bed every other day of the week.
In the end I made a bastardised ally inlet from an XUD and a Gti 6, a 4 into 2 into 1 stainless remote manifold and a mahoosive free flowing exhaust that just cleared the bulkhead.
Tom made his own Arduino controller for a huge VNT turbo, had the head flowed and flow benched to prove the figures, had the engine blue printed, got custom H section rods made in China and had the pump rebuilt by Dieselmeken in Sweden etc etc etc.
Circa 237bhp & 327 ft/lbs maybe more in the end iirc?
They are 90bhp standard.

That it? Should have just put a tuned 1.8t into it instead...Scruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:30 am Circa 237bhp & 327 ft/lbs maybe more in the end iirc?

No.
You really need this:
https://www.gsfcarparts.com/elr030-793
Note the higher temperature rating. These engines get really hot under the bonnet.
Do it right, once.
