What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Tried to top up the oil in Mrs D's Bini after getting a dash warning. No dipstick! Use the on board computer to check the level.

It wont tell me the level unless I drive for at least 30 minutes!
WTactualF?

It's getting half a litre whether it needs it or not.

Van was collected yesterday. Was doing the maths and I think I owned it five years. Seems so strange opening the front door and not seeing it there. First time I've really felt this way about a car. Anyway it's living its new life in north Wales now. I do have to say the little c1 is a delight to drive in comparison and I don't feel exhausted after driving it. It's booked in for four new tyres in the morning. Now sorting through the piles of spares and listing them for sale and binning other bits.

Which idiot actually thought of that and which idiots actually approved it for production?
I suppose with my beancounter head on it's a good idea, it saves production costs and increases the sale of replacement engines. We really are going backwards in some ways....

My van tells you the oil level at start up but thankfully had a dipstick too.

They normally don't draw much though.
The van had a tracker when I got it from Kiltox. It would flatten the battery in about three days. I traced the wires back to the battery and chopped it out. It lasts for more than a week now which is as long as I've left it.
