That’s right, I think the insurance assessor had just been to have a look at the damage (a great big hole in the wall of his house iirc) when he disappeared from AS.

Identical principle, except instead of the crystal as the detector diode, the poor connection between the blued blade and pencil acts the same way.

The sound of that radio brings back memories. Does it have rds?
I had a John Player Special f1 car that was a radio and took square 9v batteries.
