What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I think that it was used for all the 200 coupes as they reckoned it had the same profile as a F14 canopy.

Ahh I wondered where that came from, I'd never known.

Marvelled at the sheer amount of drool a young dog can deposit down the side of a gleaming car on each and every short journey. Chester has always done it so one side of the car is always drool stained but now the young'un has discovered the joys of ears flapping in the breeze, both sides are striped.

Still, an excuse to get the Mr Sheen out when I get home... I really like the colour!

Is that your GT410?

A mate has the Evora 400. Lovely machine.
The standard Evora would be something I'd consider if I sold everything and just had one toy.

I actually did some car stuff today, nothing much, but I feel as if I’ve gone fully Fuzz Townsend/Ant Ansted .
1. Washed and leathered the Jag at 07.00 this morning.
2.Replaced,the noisy heater/aircon fan on the 330i. Been putting this off for about 6 months because of complexity of the job vis a vis access , according to e90 Forums. Found a YouTube clip of a Septic doing it by just reaching up under the dash and using brute force and ignorance- my sort of mechanic. Job done , only slight blood loss.
3 . Replaced headlamp bulb on 330i- from inside wheel arch , of course.
4. Gave Boxster a proper clean up, especially cleaning all the drains and vacuumed all the leaves etc from everywhere including the top of the engine.
5. Removed all the wheels to clean out the arches inside the liners and polished the backs of the wheels( No, I don’t know why either)

Tomorrow I might do an engine swap on the e30, maybe a 4.4 V8 out of an e60 , or maybe not- back to car washes at Ethnic Cleaning and neglecting everything else.

After going on to anyone who would listen about how perfectly reliable my Rover 600 was, last night I got in it and tried to start to find the engine turned over really fast like it had no compression, and wouldn't start. Balls.
I had to leave it at my dads and drive back in his Mondeo.
My first thought was snapped cambelt, but dad's taken the distributor cap off and the rotor arm is still turning when the engine is cranked, so maybe not. Even if the cambelt has gone, I'm surprised because the previous owner had it done in Nov 17 at 89k (it's on 118k now) so not overdue.
It's the Honda F-series 2 litre petrol engine.
Feeling quite worried now, I'm hoping there's no serious damage done because I really like that car.

Good luck. I've never had a belt snap. Touch wood.

Does it sound like no compression at all on any cylinder? Can't think of anything off hand that would cause that to happen whilst parked up

Is it down on compression, though? If the car's been a good starter have you ever spun it over and not have it fire up? Might be it just feels/sounds too free-spinning and just has a simple ignition or fuel fault.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......
