It is a lovely thing. And I never thought I would say that about a piggy-leggro but they have grown on me with age. Which I suppose under-writes the effectiveness of their design and intent!
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

That would be ace. I did say to HMC but you were at the top of the list.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 3:28 pmYou will get first refusal (,with my track record probably within six months) I pm'd HMC as soon as I saw he had it, as I didn't think he'd keep it long, it came up a bit sooner than I expected
Given my mother-in-law is about to agree to a new kitchen, I think he will have a convincing argument to get one now. I'll be happy as it means we won't spend half hour or more everytime we go to the NEC Classic Car Show.

Re: What did you do today?
Drove this:
Very late 960 so badged up as a V90, I think it's top spec. 3.0 Straight-6, 4-speed auto box, leather and suede interior with dashings of fauwood, dicky seats in the boot for midgets/children and a consistent PAS leak.
A whole lot a motor car for £460.
Drove really rather well, seemingly these late cars have an entirely different suspension setup from the earlier 700/900 cars, which was nicked from the 850, so they are a bit nice to drive. I liked it but it's too new for classic insurance and I don't fancy paying £700 for the privilege of driving it and getting 25mpg on a good day.
The roof rack is due to the PO being an antiques dealer (naturally) and starts howling at 40mph, 60mph is pretty much unbearable in what would otherwise be a very quiet car...

I don't think the 3.0 ever came with one. Not in a 960 anyway.
It's derivatives certainly do, DavidFowler2000's modern (2010) V70 T6 has the evolution of the same engine but equipped with twin turbos and it goes like absolute fuck

There's your answer don't go over 40mph, or strap a bloody big dresser on top to muffle the noise.captain_70s wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 8:13 pm Drove this:

Re: What did you do today?
I'm down visiting parents so the usual 'fix everything they own' process was done.
Chinese 125cc, new carb fitted (£12 new off ebay). That's now running fine and ready for sale.
Virago 250cc, both cam chain tensioners reset so it's quiet. Oil changed and mother informed how to clean and lube a chain.
Jeep Cherokee One, condemned for rust. It needs the rear foot of inner and outer sills on both sides replacing. The outer sill on both sides is made of air. All four tyres are splitting and falling apart from age too. Drives ok for a CRD and has months of MOT. Anyone fancy a welding project? The rest of the car is good.
Jeep Cherokee Two, confirmed not rotten at all. Replacement front prop not fitted, it came without one at all. We don't have the bolts for the Tbox end, but I've confirmed all the 4wd works. I think the reason the prop was removed by the previous owner was it always shows 4wd on the dash. A missing bush on the Tbox cable means the lever position ( which triggers the lights) doesn't match what's selected. Looks an utter arse to do so they'll ask a garage, bush has already been sourced.
Little Diatshu jeep thing, stalling when pulling away traced to the pond in the air box. Runs fine now that's been dried out.
Yes they have too many cars, no I don't know why. But some should be getting sold now. After all they have a transit tureano van thing as their normal car.
Oh and their new Golden Lab is the worst guard dog ever. I'd never meet him before so when they didn't hear me arrive and I walked into the house he came and demanded to be stroked without the slightest bark or growl.

Re: What did you do today?
One rear brake was binding on pug and disc was shagged. Caliper is shagged but was cleaned and freed but it's on the replacement list. Two new rear discs, new rear pads, handbrake adjusted up and car feels so much better. Main beam still likes to stay on permanently so I'm going to run a toggle switch to dashboard via a relay.
