Thanks for the positivity people.
It's not graunchy and works perfectly well. It is getting worse though.
I'm just turning the radio up for now.

Re: What did you do today?
For the cost of it just change it? I just persuaded the old man to change the box oil on the Z as it's off on a long trip. It's not noisy but gears are a bit stiff to engage from cold and the mechanics up the road reckon the gearboxes are a weak point. It's only a 60k car but history unknown. All I can say is it's definitely improved things. I'll get the 405 done when I get back as that's similar and may well be on the original box oil as it's only done 45k.

I had the autobox oil n filter done on the XJR when I got it. It only had 80k on it but it did make the box smoother and quieter along with fresh diff oil.

Re: What did you do today?
Both top mounts and dampers replaced on the Fiesta ST today. £160...
Finally stopped the thing banging over even the tiniest bump or pot hole. The same top mount as before on the drivers side was bust and was going on the passenger side. Bloke that did it said the drivers side damper felt loose to him but when I had a go it seemed normal. Nither were Ford original so we'll wait and see how long it all lasts.

These are some words.

The Santa Fe of high bills and low reliability has been replaced.
My new daily modern is a 57 plate Nissan X-trail with 140k miles.
Here's hoping Japanese is better than Korean.

Absolutely fuck all. Poured with rain all day and even the dog refuses to go out in it, had to kick his bum to ake him go out for a wee before he exploded! He really doesn't like the rain...

Re: What did you do today?
Further to my earlier post, I have just bid on three Jauars on eBay and e-mailed a dealer about a deal on my SuLK against a new shape XKR coupe! Surprised at how expensive they are to be honest but, they all seem to be of a kind so I guess that's the going rate.
