The 350z could be had in a variety of different states of tune/options, they are all fucking heavy, the touring version extremely so but they're not, to my thinking a 'sports car' anyway.

The old man's just turned 70 so not after an out and out sports car. It'd gone by the time we got there so hey ho. The trader seemed ok and is trying to source more so will probably go back and see what he's got. He had a blue one in but had scruffy paint, stonechips and blemishes all over it so no good. Also had a facelift one that was tidy but in that dull silver so walked away.
I know the Z's go well and make a great noise. Years ago I was in my mates Mk2 Astra with a V6 gsi engine in with the Calibra 6 speed box, we came across a Z one evening and it pulled away from the Astra, not by a massive margin but it was certainly no slouch.

Do you mean the C25XE engine? It's not that powerful, only about 170 bhp. That's hampered further with the massive standard flywheel, but if the Astra had the f28 6-speed box that'd probably been replaced with a lighter (and smaller) one anyway.

A mate's got a 350Z, it's got about 100 bhp more IIRC. It doesn't hang around.

Indeed. I've used Circoli stuff before and it's been OK. I use ECP's budget dampers as well (Anschler) and not had a single problem in 10 years, same goes for their cheap discs and pads (Eicher).

The 318Ti now arms up with a toasty heater within 2 miles, good result.

Went to Brightwells auction earlier with the old man. He had his eye on a Suxuki SV4 thing that he thought would go for less than 500 quid for some reason, it went for 900 quid so just slightly* out on that one. Only really cheap stuff was Peugeot related or a bug eyed Micra with a gaffer taped wing for 180.
It was his 70th Birthday a week ago and I reminded him he was meant to have a Jaaaaag for his 50th that never happened. Working along those lines I think I've persuaded him to go and have a look at a 350Z tomorrow instead, fingers crossed!

He'll be ok for a bit, I've just given him this beauty. 53,000 from new. Probably 52,000 with one careful owner, then bub for the last 1000 by the look of it but it runs really well. I've said he can have it til the test runs out in June then I'll weigh it in
