Re: What did you do today?
Glad I had a shot on a XJ6 (the red one - MFV) as I wanted one for ages. But tbh it made up my mind that they're not for me. Literally barge like and not particularly fun to hustle on back roads. Wasn't particularly quick either and the old school auto box that was in it isn't particularly refined. At least to not what I'm used to when compared to modern computer controlled slush autos.

Try a V8 if you get the chance, they are a step up on power, response and refinement. Still a bit barge like but amusing to throw about faster than they should go.

Re: What did you do today?
Stupid question alert. I have a 2016 transit custom with 40k on the clock. I've had it a couple of years and had it remapped to 182hp and 450nm on the rolling road when I first bought it.
For the last day or two the gearbox has started to make a low pitched noise which is speed related. Not your usual diff whine.
I know it's probably fucked especially as the van is fully loaded and usually flat out, but would changing the gearbox oil make any difference/make the noise go away/prolong the life of it?
Or is it time for the mechanics to pull my pants down?

I can't see new oil making it any worse, probably worth the risk before planning for a new box?

The glaziers van has spat 2 gearboxes so far, the only saving grace is that they aren't dear to have fixed.

Re: What did you do today?
I went for this model custom as it has the same engine and box as my old 2010 transhit.
I did 125k hard miles without a single failure. I only 'upgraded' as it was a bit rusty and battle scarred.
