I'd love a copy of the pdf please. Let me tinker with it and if I keep it I'll start a thread on it

Re: What did you do today?
I repaired a scuff on the front bumper (done by some inconsiderate parker) and for once in my life, did a halfway decent job! Quite pleased with myself... only went out to do it to try and stay awake so I could watch the GP as I have been up all night watch other motor racing and the MotoGP right up to 3:00 pm. A great Sunday for me, not so much for the mutts...

Re: What did you do today?
I do believe we're getting there on the Jag. Blocked breather on nearside bank has put oil into the cats. Whilst it was in bits I've compression tested it, all good, done a sniffer test, passed, and generally gave it a good fettle. Had it running for a few hours with the throttle wedged a 3k rpm, smoke has reduced massively. The oily film in the tailpipes is now just soot from unleaded. It needs a replacement thermostat housing as the plastic one is leaking slightly, ordered the updated alloy version. Giving it a quick oil change, oil only then will run it for a week or so and service it properly. Underneath is a lot better than I was expecting, needs a good wire brush, rust treatment and dinitrol but mostly solid. Two brand new Dunlop's on the rear and best of all a refund cheque of 300 quid turned up today. So Jag owes me 300 purchase price with a full mot.

Now that's a result! a £300 Jag is never a bad thing.

Good news on two counts - viable sub-grand Jags still exist and so do honourable vendors.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......
