All watertight now. A rather offensive colour, good, it shall henceforth be known as the Trump shed.

Regarding the baby Austins, avoid the A30. The A35 is the one to go for with its much improved engine and transmission.

Re: What did you do today?
Today I've been working on the Clio, fixing all those little niggles that spoil a car. I've reset the windows so one-touch works, replaced some tiny bulbs so that everything illuminates as it should, that sort of thing.
While I was inside the heater control panel, I blasted it with Optimist's Spray (contact cleaner) but of course that didn't fixed the knackered blower motor. Judging by the replacement control panel, and new plugs and wiring to the resistor pack the previous owner tried everything hoping it wasn't the motor itself. But it is, and I don't want to change it either.
Final niggle was easy - when you insert a CD, the display reads "MONO CD". So I mashed all the buttons trying to switch it to stereo mode, before looking it up on the internet. And it turns out "mono CD" means "playing a single CD, as opposed to one from the CD changer". The sound is, of course, stereo. Excellent use of terminology, Renault.
