Copy & paste from a computer broswer normally works, the links from phones don't.
If I could find a better extension to handle all the types I'd add it.

Re: What did you do today?
I take it that it was only the flexi they removed from the exhaust and not the cat as well ? The holes would give a lambda emmissions fail but a faulty / missing cat will be a CO fail. There again if the post cat sensor was after the flexi then it would effect the CO

Re: What did you do today?
The cat and lambda sensor are before that flexi. The tester told me that failing the lambda puts the test into a longer cycle which may have caused it to fail the CO as well. It's going back in today and he'll test the emissions before retesting the mot.
If it fails the CO, will that point to a lambda sensor problem or more likely to be something else?

Re: What did you do today?
It depends if you have 2 sensors. If there is one each side of the cat then it is likely the cat failed but you really need to plug a scanner in and see what the sensors are doing otherwise it is just guess work. If it only has one sensor and it is switching and the temp sensor is showing a correct reading then that will be the cat as well. It is rarely the sensonrs even though they are the first thing everyone seems to replace. If it has had an aftermarket cat fitted they struggle to last more than a year, but I am sure your tester will give a better idea as he will of seen the emmissions data and looked at the cat.

Re: What did you do today?
I 'think' I have a developing problem with the SLK. Allow me to explain... but you will need to restrain yourselves from taking the piss as I am about to be really vague.
Sometimes when I start it from cold, it drives... differently. It feels like the choke is on a bit too much if anyone here can remember cars with chokes? The other day, on a slightly bumpy road, it felt like the throttle was being hyper-sensitive or it was being pressed too far, but it wasn't honest...
Am I going mad?

Idle control circuit. No idea how it functions on them but it often plays up as they gum up from crankcase fumes.
It's often a case of finding it (on or near the throttle body) & filling it with carb cleaner a few times.

We had something a bit like this a few years ago with our eldests C3 Pluriel. I seem to remember it was damp getting into the throttle position sensor.
