These things are fun to watch too.

Yeah, basically it's a semi-floaty semi-amphibious base for a regular caterpillar digger. Gives you an idea of scale, the one in that picture has a long reach arm and the standard middle-size thin bucket.

Yesterday I attempted to deal with the child's polo and its unopenable rear door.

It's a shit job trying to get the door card off with the door closed. Lots of levering and wrestling finally saw it give up the fight.

The metal panel has the window winder mechanism attached and the glass had to be disconnected from the mechanism.

This stage didnt go too well.

Fucking bastard.

With the panel out of the way, I could drill a hole in the door frame and release the lock.

Those VW door locks are a bastard I had a front one jam on a Skoda Fabia and the easiest way to deal with it was to smash the solenoid off it with a big fuck off screwdriver. The locks are bloody expensive though about 180 quid if I remember correctly.

Noticed the other day that the drivers' door handle was a tad 'sticky' so finally feeling bit healthier, I went out with a can of WD40 and sprayed every hinge and handle I could find. Made a right mess of course as I am a clumsy cackhanded twat and the wind was blowing at about 90mph!

Was going to investigate why the car is making a moaning/whirring noise from the front/pulley/belt area. However, it was cold and the wind was blowing hard so I gave it a miss (I'll pay Panhard to investigate when he gets the lovely opportunity to work on my car next year - this may be news to him...) and then when I took the dogs out and also when I went to the shops, it didn't bloody do it anyway!

Problem seems to be, the driver I fear. I get tired really easily now and walking the dogs (well, Chester takes himself for a walk and I kill myself trying to play ball with Phoebe) absolutely ruins me and then I tend to hear every noise and squeak about ten times its real volume.
